Nation States and the Limits of Architecture Professionalism

I am an architect academic conducting research on different countries’ professional architecture organizations. I’m interested in comparing how architecture in different countries is organized by its professional organizations and reflects that countries’ economic and cultural paradigms. Architects in each country assume that they are practicing a universally-agreed upon discipline but this is not so. It is important that architects gain awareness of their fragmented and nation-determined role in serving a global society.
